Vote for Gary Robinson as Prospective Labour Candidate for Barrow & Furness
A lifelong Labour supporter, I became more active locally with the Labour Party and in 2019/20, joined the Barrow and Furness Constituency Labour Party Executive Committee. I have stayed on the executive ever since and has held roles such as local party secretary and other roles in fund raising and membership. I stood down as secretary last year to concentrate on my campaign to be PPC.
I have also been instrumental in moving the local party HQ to its current home at Broadcasting House on Hartington St recently, where I still sit on a working group that helps steer community-led projects, events and party engagement across Furness. I am also a member of Labour affiliate The Co-operative Party and a member of Community Union, Musicians Union and the National Union of Journalists (NUJ).
I am extremely proud to have received official endorsement from Musician’s Union as their candidate of choice for Barrow and Furness.
From my current day job as Publisher at Incisive Media, if selected I will stand down to fight the next election and I hope that my expertise and connections in sustainable investing in the City and internationally, will give me the chance to help bring in vital funds to the region and build a sustainable platform for Furness to thrive.
I believe that the time is right for to fully focus on my dream to be able to represent the Labour Party in my home town constituency of Barrow and Furness at the next general election.
In the coming weeks I will provide a regular blog on this site and on my political candidate’s Facebook page ahead of the completion of the selection process by the national party and then the selection committee of our local CLP.
I hope that I am given the chance to outline my vision for Furness and why I believe that I am the best person to represent Barrow and Furness as Labour candidate in the next election.
